Kailee is a global strategist, champion of social justice, and public speaker. She has served as the former Managing Director of Black Lives Matter Global Network. Kailee works at the intersection of global development and social justice, and helps create effective solutions towards eradicating racial injustice, education gaps, global health care inequality, economic and educational disenfranchisement, and climate change to transform the world.
As the first Managing Director of Black Lives Matter Global Network, Kailee helped build a sound infrastructure around the decentralized organization to support its evolution from a hashtag to a political and cultural powerhouse for Black people across the globe. Most recently, she led the organization through the aftermath of the death of George Floyd and played an integral part in one of the most revolutionary times in modern history.
Kailee’s work spans nearly two decades in the U.S. and 14 countries throughout Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and North and South America. She supports organizations in developing programs and creating solutions to address some of the world’s most complex social issues. She has helped develop local entrepreneurs in post-conflict countries including Liberia, Afghanistan, Haiti and Timor-Leste, worked to ensure successful women’s health programming in Ethiopia, collaborated with heads of state and Fortune 500 companies towards achieving a global climate deal, and worked closely with Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden and United Nations leaders to support their efforts to combat global drug abuse.
